Prof. Hossam Hamdy, the Chancellor of Gulf Medical University, Ajman-UAE, participated as one of the main speakers in the ‘Innovations in Health Professions Education Conference’ organized by the King Saud bin Abdul Aziz University of Health Sciences in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from 2nd to 6th April, 2017. Prof. Hamdy, the globally renowned medical educator and pediatric surgeon was one of the four international faculties addressing the conference.
King Saud Bin Abdulaziz University of Health Sciences is under the National Guard Health Affairs, Saudi Arabia, and is one of the biggest academic institutions in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The ‘Innovations in Health Professions Education Conference’ is an international program conducted annually, with eminent leaders in medical education who train and develop faculties and clinical educators on different aspects related to medical education. Prof. Hamdy was in charge of ‘How effective learning and teaching in the clinical environment should be.’
Prof. Hossam Hamdy is regularly invited to the conference as one of the main speakers. Apart from Prof. Hamdy from Gulf Medical University – UAE, the other international speakers included Prof. Susan. M. Case from the United States, Prof. Henk Schmidt from the Netherlands and Dr. Robert Parson from Canada. The program extended over 4 days and was attended by around 150 faculty and clinicians from all over Saudi Arabia
