Thumbay Hospital Day Care, University City Road, Muweilah – Sharjah, the leading day care hospital under Thumbay Group’s healthcare division conducted Hospital Tour Session for the female students of Grade 11 and Grade 12 of Gulf Asian School Sharjah on 19th September 2018.

Thumbay Hospital – Ajman, in association with Ajman Medical District, conducted a free health checkup camp at China Mall, Ajman. The camp was organized to mark ‘World Heart Day’.

The camp offered free blood sugar and blood pressure tests as well as free GP consultation. Over a hundred people availed the services.

Thumbay Physcial Therapy & Rehabilitation Hospital, the biggest and most advanced hospital for physical therapy and rehabilitation, had the pleasure of hosting Indian and Pakistani Wheelchair Cricket teams on 18^th September 2018. The team members were received at the hospital by Mr. Akram Moideen Thumbay, the Chairman of Thumbay Group’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Committee. The visiting Indian and Pakistani players were all praise for the cutting-edge physical therapy and rehabilitation facilities of the hospital. One of the team members, Mr. Abhai Pratap Singh, former Squardon Leader at the Indian Air Force got the greatest surprise of his life during the visit, as he was able to walk on his own, 11 years after a devastating accident which had paralyzed his body below the waist and confined him to the wheelchair, ending his career as an airman.

Abhai’s wish to be able to walk again came true at Thumbay Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Hospital, as he tried one of the innovative rehab technologies available at the hospital, the Ekso Bionic Suit. “After 11 years, I am walking again. I’ll cherish this memory forever,” Abhai said, overjoyed.

The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Committee of Dubai-based international conglomerate Thumbay Group has extended financial support to the families of its employees that were affected by the recent floods in Kerala and Karnataka. The financial assistances to employees were distributed by Mr. Akram Moideen Thumbay, the Chairman of Thumbay Group’s CSR Committee at a function on 25^th September 2018.

India’s southernmost state of Kerala and the district of Coorg in Karnataka had experienced unprecedented floods following unusually high monsoon rains during August 2018, causing huge destructions in terms of lives and property.

A subcommittee of Thumbay Group’s CSR committee constituted for the purpose of providing help to flood victims had collected funds amounting to Dhs.115,000 from various business units of Thumbay Group as well as voluntary contributions from among staff and department heads. Around 40 employees received the financial assistance at the function, which will strengthen the efforts of their families to bounce back from the losses due to the flood.

“Our hearts go out to the flood-affected states. We take this opportunity to express our support for those who have lost a loved one and to all the families of the affected regions, as they begin to rebuild their lives,” said Mr. Akram Moideen Thumbay, adding “By extending financial help to the affected families of our employees, Thumbay Group hopes to assist them in their efforts to rebuild and recover.”
